With an aesthetic that melds super galactic visions of Star Trek with something that Sheldon from The Big Bang Theory on Mescaline (or LSD) might have designed, Sven Väth’s Cocoon Club is one of a kind. Cocoon is the most futuristic and well designed club ever. The construction is priced at a staggering 11 Million Pounds to build and has genre defining artists who feature as residents like (the man himself) Sven Väth, Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Vilalobos, and The Dark Minimalist Hero Ali Dubfire.

The techno meister’s ideas, experience, and ambition have transformed the space into an uber-club that's otherworldly, yet organic. At Cocoon, Sven’s party faithful play out on a sound system to die for, while the immersive experience is heightened by multimedia technology. Feast your senses at restaurants Micro and Silk before moving to the main room, where projections flicker over the perimeter wall, which itself appears to pulsate with music. VIPs may hit the pods, but any minimal techno head wanting to feel the heat will hit the unbelievable dance floor, simply because Cocoon makes the music come alive.

Back in the early 90s Frankfurt was home to the most hardcore clubs in Europe – the "Dorian Gray" and the "Omen". Cocoon owner Sven Väth was a resident at the latter, and has endeavoured to recreate that same hedonistic spirit at his swanky futuristic club (with built in restaurants) which boasts the 360° "Membrane Wall" being high on the 'Are You Fucking Serious?!' factor. “It's a statement of the 21st century,” says Sven. “I have without a doubt created the best dance club in the world. Ask any self respecting DJ."

Unlike the others, this night club completely bears the stamp of this legendary DJ. You cant help but feel like you are really in a cocoon, although maybe in an über modern style cocoon onboard an unknown Star Wars Battle Ship. Both visually and acoustically, this club’s design is awe inspiring. There is a 100m across, 360 degree screen that bounces synchronized lights and images off it like no other. Add to that stunning cocoon like features like a 100m long “Membrane Wall” with actual “cocoons” inside, each with a minibar, phone, computer, light controls, and a sound system. So Amazing!

this place is without commercialist sound and therefore in my eyes is absolutely amazing. All we will feel is the liquid sound resonating within our bodies...

    Epic...

Im a huge fan of the underground sound... Its cool that the music is flowing like lquid diamonds though. There is some Sven that I would like to hear as well, and some of that Ricardo Villabos. A remix he did for Depeche Mode. I think its "Sinner In Me".

Dont promote it too much though. Let those that dont understand the genre just walk on by. Like most things of such magertude, It is not for everyone.
